In 2010, the atmospheric old Urania National Film Theatre shifted to the digital system in the frame of which we put into operation a 3-dimension DCI projection system. The projection system is composed of a 2K (2048x1080) definition Christie Digital projector, an integrated Dolby 3D system and its accessories. The big hall of Urania is used for several purposes, theatrical performances and other programs are also organised in it, so the integration of a digital DCI projection system meant a serious challenge from technical point of view. The special environment of Urania means an important light reflection from the point of view of cinematic technique, therefore it was necessary to apply a projector of large capacity of more than 21.000 Ansi lumens. The project was performed in close cooperation with Cinemax Kft, the technical partner of DNN|360.
